ASA of Az asks State Farm for Policy on use of 'Old data?

The Automotive Service Association of Arizona’s Collision Workgroup is working toward providing information and tools in order to maximize the longevity of the industry with their current mission in mind, “Protecting Consumers through Positive Changes in the Collision Industry”.

Several questions have been raised about the State Farm Survey and in our efforts to educate our members on the common misconceptions, the ASA AZ Collision Workgroup has sent a letter to State Farm asking for clarification on their policy in the use of obsolete survey information.  ASA AZ would like to understand the criteria State Farm uses within their survey to assure that the data used credibly reflects the current market.

We hope that this will be the start of opening the lines of communication with the insurer to discuss the “break” in the system and how we might work together to improve it.  Everyone is experiencing increases in cost of materials from vendors and the current system does not allow for shops to provide quality work to a consumer.

We understand that there is no quick solution to the problem, but we would like the opportunity to understand and better be able serve the consumer.
